Mandatory Adult Supervision Policy

I understand that the Open Art Studio is a self-guided, creative space. While the facilitator is available to offer artistic guidance and support, they are not responsible for childcare or supervision. Participants ages 8–12 must be accompanied and actively supervised by the parent or guardian listed below for the entire time they are in the studio. I, the parent or guardian, accept full responsibility for the minor participant’s actions, conduct, safety, and well-being while on the premises.

Ticket Policy

I understand and agree to the following ticket policies for participation in the Open Studio Art Group:

Tickets are available to purchase on our website (www.shenarttherapy.com). Tickets may be also be purchased at the event only if space is available. Participants purchasing tickets on-site must complete and sign all required forms before joining the group.
Every person entering the studio must have a ticket, including adults accompanying a child. Tickets are required per person to ensure fair use of limited space, even if adults accompanying children do not plan on making art..
Young teens (independent ticket holders ages 13+) needing transportation should be dropped off at the start of the studio time and drivers should arrive 10 minutes before the end of the studio time to ensure prompt pick up. Due to space limitations, drivers or guardians may not wait or observe inside the studio unless they have purchased a ticket.
Ticket prices are the same regardless of arrival time, and no discounts are offered for late arrivals. All ticket sales are final.

Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand that participating in art activities comes with some inherent risks, which may include, but are not limited to:

Exposure to art materials (such as paints, glues, solvents, or powdered pigments) that may cause irritation or allergic reactions.
Use of sharp tools (like scissors, craft knives, or poking tools) that could result in cuts or abrasions.
Possible slips, trips, or falls from wet floors, dropped materials, or general movement around the studio space.

Release and Waiver of Liability

I understand and agree to the following:

In consideration of myself, or the minor participant being allowed to use the studio and take part in art activities, I, on behalf of myself, the minor participant, and our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and discharge Shenandoah Art Therapy, LLC, along with its owners, staff, and volunteers, from any and all claims, liabilities, costs, or causes of action for any loss, damage, or injury (including death) to the minor participant or personal property. This release applies to any incident arising from or related to participation in studio activities, even if such injury or loss results from the negligence of those released.

Art Therapy Disclaimer Acknowledgement

I understand that while the Open Studio Art Group is facilitated by a provisionally registered art therapist, this is not a clinical art therapy session. The group is a community-based, creative art-making space intended for personal expression and enjoyment, not for mental health treatment or therapy. Participation in this program should not be considered a substitute for professional mental health care or therapeutic services.

Photo and Media Release

I give permission to Shenandoah Art Therapy, LLC to photograph or record the ticketholder (myself, or minor participant) and/or artwork for promotional, educational, or advertising purposes in print, video, or online media. I understand that these images or recordings may be used without compensation and may appear in materials produced or shared by the studio.
