Knitting/Crocheting for Refugees FREE Event!

Our team has been feeling the sense of helplessness many are expressing with the current global tragedies and the enormous amount of people displaced from their homes and communities. As a result, when we stumbled upon
Ravelry's Hats and More for Refugees Worldwide, we instantly wanted to help with this effort.
If you're like us, please join us on

March 9th (flyer below)!  Here are some details to know:

  • We will provide light refreshments, patterns and tutorials.  We will not be able to provide supplies, so please bring knitting/crochet needles (US size 6-9) and yarn that is at least 75% wool (better for warmth, quality and longevity of the item made). Materials will available for purchase if you attend the event at Rocktown Yarn Co. TIP: the packaging on your yarn will recommend the appropriate size for your knitting/crochet needles.

  • Please visit Ravelry's Hats and More for Refugees Worldwide for more information about the types of knit/crochet projects they recommend.

  • After the event, completed projects must be turned into either location listed on the flyer by MARCH 31st.  Please call us or email info@shenarttherapy.com to arrange project drop off if dropping off at Shenandoah Art Therapy.

  • If you can't make it to our event, you can still:

    • drop off what you make to be shipped!

    • clear out your stash at home and donate supplies to the event!

    • visit our Amazon wishlist to donate supplies to the event: https://a.co/8k4jSyG

  • The flyer is below and you are welcome to contact us with any questions!

Please contact us for dates and times.
